Alex De Taeye is hardly an obscure Belgian composer (… although Perlman and Sony don’t seem to know too much about him)!!!! 1898 – 1952, graduated from the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, professor of harmony there for a few years until he became director of the Conservatoire de Mons in 1931 until his death. Prix de Rome in 1927. His music is romantic, somewhat in the tradition of Franck and Lekeu, but very much his own. I should think the score for Humoresque IS available.
