The Flower Not Taken
Oh pitiful flower who has been rejected
In your shame you shed your petals
For a love that couldn't even be won
With the most precious of all metals
Your body withered as did you passion
And away by the wind you were blown
Failed was your quest to obtain a drop
Of the nectar sweeter than your own
Through your flight in quiet reflection
Did you release your seeds in lament
Cry no longer for reaching the ground
A spark allowed the seed to ferment
In your reincarnation is a second chance
By another love you won't be forsaken
Taking a form even more beautiful you
Dodge the fate of the flower not taken
